Welcome

Early Years @ Phoenix Park is a not-for-profit, community-based early childhood service offering Long Day Care, Integrated Kindergarten, and Sessional Kindergarten

Our families are able to utilise a combination of these services.

Our centre is administered by a volunteer parent management committee,

and is sponsored by the City of Stonnington.

Established in January 2011 and located at the Phoenix Park Children’s Hub,

our centre sets high standards in providing quality care and education

for children aged 12 weeks to 6 years old.

Caitlin B

“We feel so lucky to have found this beautiful centre for our kids. My kids LOVE the centre so much. The educators are kind, attentive and truly passionate about what they do - you can see how much they care in the way they connect with the children every day. One of the standout features for us is the incredible outdoor space: filled with trees, garden beds and real grass (no synthetic turf in sight!!!!). It feels like a proper, authentic place space and yard where the kids can explore, play and connect with nature. A rare find these days. Highly recommend."

Committee of Management

As a not-for-profit, community-based early childhood education centre, our service is overseen by the Committee of Management (COM), made up of volunteer parents elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in February of each year.

The primary purpose of the COM is to support the Service Director and management team, who are in charge of daily operations, by providing overall strategic direction — in areas such as finance, policy, and compliance related matters — whilst upholding the interests of all families enrolled at the centre.

The COM members formally meet once a month to receive updates from the Service Director and provide guidance on matters that can be complex in nature.

The EYPP Committee of Management can be contacted directly at: committee.eypp@gmail.com

As a service we acknowledge the critical importance of children, parents, and educators collaborating as partners in a learning community. Children learn about themselves and construct their own identity within the context of their families and communities.

As early childhood professionals, we are committed to having high expectations for every child’s learning and development.

Our service and team view children as capable, competent co-contributors, and active participants in their own learning. Our educators provide a stimulating learning environment influenced by the interests and capabilities of each child.

Our play-based curriculum is authentic and responsive to each child’s learning and development, and our assessments create a holistic picture of each child’s knowledge, understandings, skills, and capabilities.

Children lead their learning through an exploratory process with experiences rich in language, literature, numeracy, science, music, and physical movement. They establish lifelong skills engaging in sensory, dramatic, and imaginative play.

Children build links with the wider community through regular outings and excursions exploring the surrounds and beyond.

Early Years @ Phoenix Park is a place where children feel happy, safe, and nurtured; where children learn to develop an understanding and respect for and others.
