Early Years @ Phoenix Park – Welcome

Early Years @ Phoenix Park is a not for profit community based early childhood service offering Long Day Care and Sessional Kindergarten. Our families are able to utilise a combination of these services.

Established in January 2011 and located at the Phoenix Park Children’s Hub, our centre sets high standards in providing quality care and education for children aged 12 weeks to 6 years and a support systems for their parents. Our high standards have been reflected in our achievement of the Exceeding level in the National Quality standards in 2014.

Our centre is administered by a parent management committee and is sponsored by the City of Stonnington. We employ Early Childhood Professionals for all our rooms and have our own onsite cook.

Our Early Childhood Professionals plan the curriculum using indoor and outdoor environments for children to explore and discover, learning through play. Our play based curriculum encourages each child to develop at their own pace and in their own way, enables children to bring their own ideas to each experience and is supported through strong relationships between families and staff.

Early Years @ Phoenix Park is a place where children feel happy, safe and nurtured, where families feel welcome and supported, and where community members can meet and build connections.

From the President

A typical day at Early Years @ Phoenix Park involves lots of play, fun, laughter and exploration. There are sandcastles being built and children climbing equipment, while someone is in the playhouse being the shopkeeper. There are pictures being drawn and books being read, and of course, many songs being sung. So much can happen at EY@PP in one day!

At EY@PP it is all about the children. Here they learn about each other, the community and the world that they live in. Their development is enhanced by the opportunities they are provided with by our staff to play, explore, experiment and through all of this learn so much.

We encourage families to get involved at the centre in ways that best suit them, it may be through the committee or various voluntary roles. We extend invitations to family and extended family to visit and spend time within the programs. And when families are struggling we try our best to help them find the support they need.

We pride ourselves in offering services of a high standard and to do this we regularly reflect with the staff about the programs we deliver. This reflection helps us to ensure we are tailoring our environment to the differing needs of the children in the room each day, maximizing their potential to develop in a creative way.

If you want to know more about this centre please look around our site, ask your neighbours and friends about us, and importantly, give us a call. Shirley and Annette, our Service Managers, are always happy to talk with you about what we offer, how to join our waiting list and give you a tour of our buildings.
